Meerkat Social solves 'AfterPay' conundrum for Serpent Sleds
Andrew Mooney is a world class free-surfer and big wave charger. The surf media is littered with clips of his incredible rides and Indonesian adventures. In 2008, he was voted best free-surfer in the world.
Andrew is also a very gifted surfboard shaper, learning his trade under the legendary Central Coast label of 'Nirvana Surfboards' and the watchful gaze of master Bill Cilia. As Bill retired into North Coast bliss, Andrew saw the opportunity to found 'Serpent Sleds' in late 2015. He's never looked back.
As his brand and client base grew, Andrew approached Meerkat Social for support in growing his business. He needed a web platform to handle increased demand, and fast! Andrew had already recruited another web developer for the task and was severely disappointed with the quality of work and lack of punctuality. After three frustrating months, Andrew finally handed the task to Meerkat Social.
Less than a month later, Serpent Sleds now has a stunning website complete with advanced eCommerce functionality. Andrew was over the moon with the finished product, service and ease of communication with Meerkat Social.
The most complex part of the Serpent Sleds website build was integrating an AfterPay function on the surfboards. This was Andrew's most critical need, as it was a major point of differentiation from the competition. This presented a difficult conundrum, as Andrew's preferred web platform does not support AfterPay as part of its eCommerce package. Whilst this initially presented a challenge, Meerkat Social found a way to integrate into the store. Andrew was stoked!
So far, Serpent Sleds is the only Central Coast based surfboard brand which offers an AfterPay option for its customers.
